Power Generator Mechanic II

About the Role

Operate and maintain power plant/spot power generators and equipment under the direction of the Lead Generator Mechanic III Report special occurrences such as emergency outages and corrective actions to the Lead Generator Mechanic III Troubleshoot and perform low/entry through medium/intermediate level repairs to gensets and powered support systems Perform generator services in accordance with manufacturer recommendations Assist with rebuild and/or overhaul of gensets and powered support systems Assist in the control and distribution of mechanical and electrical systems for powered support equipment Troubleshoot and repair diesel, gasoline, and/or multi-fuel engines Assist with isolating generators and bypassing faults during power production malfunctions Ensure correct testing and isolation procedures are followed before working on de-energized high voltage networks Assist with daily power plant or spot gen operations as workload dictates Attend formal OEM-specific genset and/or controls training as required

Qualifications

• •Caterpillar Mech II Mechanic Certification (required)
• •5-7 years of experience as a Generator Mechanic II or equivalent role SPOT generator experience Caterpillar Mech II Mechanic Certification or equivalent Experience in medium to large scale operation and maintenance of prime power diesel gensets Experience in maintenance, repair, operation, and troubleshooting of genset systems ranging from 15kW to 3MW
