Corey's Story

After more than 20 years protecting people, assets, and installations across the Air Force, Corey had the experience to compete for any federal security position. He had led antiterrorism and force protection programs, managed security teams, and conducted vulnerability assessments at the highest levels. But getting that experience onto paper in a way that federal hiring managers wanted to see it was a different challenge entirely.

Landing a GS-11 was a big personal goal. Corey used Best Military Resume to build his federal resume, targeting a Physical Security Specialist position. His advice to other veterans going the federal route is worth reading twice. Tailor every resume to the announcement. Do not use one generic resume for every job. Translate military duties into results, leadership, and measurable impact. Apply even if you do not feel 100% qualified. Let them tell you no. Be patient. The federal hiring process can move slow, but keep pushing.
