Courtney’s transition

Courtney spent nine years in the Army working human resources.

Then he got out, and the HR job did not appear.

What appeared instead were the jobs that were available. A licensing administrator role. A grading job. Work that paid the bills while he kept looking for the thing he was trained to do.

So he built resumes on Best Military Resume. Not one. Several, each aimed at a different role.

That work landed him his current position as a Member Outreach Specialist.

He is still not finished. In July he built three more federal resumes, all pointed at federal administrative and EEO positions. He finishes a graduate degree by the end of the year.

In his own words: "Administrative and Human Resources jobs are my preference. Just trying to get work anywhere I can."

That is the most honest description of a transition we have received. Not one clean jump from uniform to dream job. A series of steps, each one a little closer than the last.

Courtney is taking the work that is available while he builds toward the work he wants.

That is not settling. That is a plan.
