Eli's Story

Eli enlisted in the Marine Corps as a private. He retired a Colonel.

That does not happen often. The Marines who start at the bottom and finish at the top of the officer ranks spend a career proving themselves twice over. Eli spent his in intelligence and operations, leading teams and then leading the people who led them.

Then came the part nobody trains you for. A career that long produces a document that reads like a service record. Every line means something inside the Corps. Almost none of it lands outside it.

He handled it early. Five months before his retirement date, while he was still on active duty, he sat down and built his resume on Best Military Resume. He built one. He never built another. Within two months of his last day, he wrote in to say he had the job.

"Yes, I got a great job and you guys really helped clean up my resume."

The lesson in his story is not the rank. It is the timing. He did not wait until the uniform came off to figure out how to explain what he had done.
