Real email, in their words.
I used the resume program to transition a very government centric resume into one that could be easily understood and appreciated in the civilian sector. I applied to several government and corporate jobs using the resume builder to adjust my details according to the job I was applying for. I recently signed a contract making over 6 figures plus yearly bonuses, part ownership in the project I am directing and full use of the company's assets globally.
Eli’s transition
Marine Corps Colonel. O-6.
He enlisted as a private.
He spent the whole career in intelligence and operations. Nearly four decades later he walked away at the top of the officer ranks, and then had to go do the thing that humbles every one of us. Explain a military career to somebody who has never worn a uniform.
He built his resume in January.
Six months later he emailed me.
"I recently signed a contract making over 6 figures plus yearly bonuses, part ownership in the project I am directing and full use of the company's assets globally."
Here is the part I want you to hear. He didn't send one resume everywhere. He applied to government and corporate roles both, and he adjusted it for each job.
His advice, and he earned the right to give it:
"Take the time to invest in your future and move from the analog world we grew up in to the digital world we now live in. I can say that with confidence because I grew up in the 70s and 80s."
Rank does not protect you from this. A Colonel and a Lance Corporal hit the same wall.
A huge congrats to this Marine!!!
