Eric’s transition

Eric spent about 20 years in the Coast Guard keeping aircraft mission-ready. He is an FAA-certified Airframe and Powerplant technician who made Chief Petty Officer, leading aviation maintenance, quality assurance, and logistics.

Then his transition got real. Like a lot of career military people, he had never actually written his own resume. A recruiter built the only one he ever had. As his out date got closer and he still did not have a job lined up, the stress piled on.

His advice to the next vet is simple. Whether you served 1 year or 40, it counts. Do not downplay any of it.

The skills were always there. Eric just needed them to read that way on paper and online.
