Jesus's Transition Story

Jesus spent about two decades in the Army. He came up through the infantry, moved into military police work, then spent his later years on the operations side, directing joint operations and running a task force of more than 2,000 people.

On the civilian side he started again as an operations supervisor at a logistics company. Real work, and a much smaller span than what he had been handling.

That is the part nobody warns a senior officer about. You rarely step off active duty into the equivalent job. You take the one in front of you, and then you climb back.

Jesus built his resume on Best Military Resume the day he signed up in May, then tailored it for the operations and program roles he actually wanted. He kept at it through the summer.

At the end of August he wrote in.

"I got a program manager position."

He had run program management in uniform back in 2018. He was not reaching for something new. He was reaching for something he had already done, and it still took a summer of tailored resumes to get a civilian employer to see it.

Jesus built a resume that got results.
