Jonathan’s transition
Jonathan spent 21 years in the Air Force, most of it leading aircraft maintenance and quality assurance operations. Senior Master Sergeant is the rank where you stop turning wrenches and start running the programs that keep aircraft in the air.
Transitioning at that level is its own problem. A senior NCO carries scope that hiring managers outside the military have no way to read. Jonathan was aiming at program management and quality roles in aerospace and defense, where the work translates but the language does not.
He joined BMR in March 2026 and treated the search like a second job. Over four and a half months he tailored 51 resumes to specific postings and wrote 26 cover letters. One resume per posting, rebuilt for what that posting actually asked for, instead of one generic resume sent to fifty companies.
In September he cancelled his subscription. When Brad asked why, he said he had been hired.
Twenty-one years of keeping aircraft flying, and now a civilian career to match it.
Jonathan built a resume that got results. Same tools. Free to start. About 15 minutes.
