Jonathan’s transition
Jonathan is an Army warrant officer with a civilian career already under way. He was not trying to land his first job out of uniform. He wanted a better one, and he was willing to run private-sector and federal searches at the same time to get it.
He built his base resume in Best Military Resume in January 2026. From February through August he tailored it 28 times. Federal versions were built to the announcement. Private versions were written in each posting's own words, most of them data roles. Every version came off the same base, so nothing he had done got lost between them.
That is a lot of applications, and most of them went nowhere. His job tracker shows the pile: more than twenty postings marked rejected. Then, in September, two of them turned into offers in the same week. One of those postings listed a range of $80,000 to $128,000.
When Brad asked whether he had landed something, the whole reply was three words: Yes, I did!
The lesson is the volume. One base, tailored for every job worth applying to, in both sectors, until the offers show up.
Jonathan built a resume that got results. Same tools. Free to start. About 15 minutes.
