Katelyn’s transition

Katelyn served ten years in the Army as a military police sergeant, leading as a platoon sergeant and an operations sergeant before she got out in 2022.

Then she became a military spouse, and the job search changed on her. On a call with Brad in July she put it plainly: "I thought, oh, I'm going to be a veteran, like I won't have a problem getting a job. No one cares that you're a veteran." Add the spouse label, and employers assume you are about to move.

She did not sit still. She worked at a county court, took a software internship, and built a community for military spouses on the side. But she wanted her own career back, with the purpose she had in uniform.

So she went to work on Best Military Resume. She signed up on July 26, went Pro five days later, and tailored six resumes over the next six weeks, one for each role she was chasing: operations, project management, business development. She tracked every one in the job tracker.

The sixth resume was for a business development role focused on the military community. She built it on September 5. This week she moved it to Offer, marked another one rejected, and messaged Brad: "I signed an offer today thanks to BMR!!"

Veteran, spouse, mom, and now back in the workforce, in a role built around the community she already serves.
