Mr. F’s transition

Mr. F spent more than two decades in the Army and retired as a Sergeant Major, the top of the enlisted ranks. He led people, ran complex operations, and held a TS/SCI clearance the whole way.

Then he went looking for his next move in program management. And he hit the wall a lot of senior leaders hit. He applied to upwards of 50 roles. Little to no interviews came back.

The experience was never the problem. A Sergeant Major with 23 years of leading complex operations has more than enough. The resume just was not translating any of it into language a civilian hiring manager could scan in six seconds.
