Taylor's Story

Taylor is a Sergeant First Class in the Kansas Army National Guard. 12 years in. 91X Maintenance Supervisor. A year out from ETS.

On the civilian side, the day job was diesel mechanic work. Good trade, but not the long-term play. The real target was the defense industry, ideally something that lined up with the Secret clearance and the maintenance leadership Taylor had already built in uniform.

Translating that managerial experience to civilian language proved to be brutal.

Taylor sent over 200 applications.

He got about 5 interviews. None of them turned into anything.

Then he switched to Best Military Resume.

Twenty resumes. Every single one hit.

He is now going from a wrench turner to a methods and process analysis role in the defense sector.

This is the dual-status soldier problem. You are not transitioning out. You are trying to make your civilian career match the operator you already are on the military side. Most resume tools are not built for that. BMR was.

In his own words, this is a blessing for his family. And he is already passing the work along to his brothers and sisters in uniform.

That is what a working resume does when a veteran already has the experience. It is not about adding more. It is about translating what is already there so the right people can read it.
