Ryan’s transition

Ryan came to BMR while still serving as a Marine Major. Twenty-four years in. Logistics Officer the whole way. Top Secret cleared. Most recently leading curriculum design for officer training, where he had spent the last year shaping how the next wave of Marine officers learns to operate.

The problem he ran into was the one every O-4 hits. The Marine Corps speaks in pay grades and billets. The private sector speaks in titles and KPIs. His resume read like a fitness report, not a job application.

So he used BMR to translate.

He built a Supply Chain Manager resume. Took 24 years of leading logistics through ambiguity and turned it into language a corporate hiring manager could actually read. Then he tailored it for each role.

He submitted around 30 resumes. Very few made it through the AI scrubs. The four that did landed him interviews. He landed a senior corporate role at a major defense contractor. Around $155K.

In his own words, the biggest difference was the language. BMR bridged the gap between his military experience and what a recruiter wanted to hear. And it gave him the confidence to talk about what he had actually done in the interviews.
