Scott's Story

Scott gave the Coast Guard close to twenty-five years. About twelve on the operational side, then thirteen more with the Coast Guard Investigative Service.

After that he went to Boeing, and then to Amazon.

A few years in, he went for a new role inside the same company. An internal transfer. Same badge, same building, people who already knew his work.

He still had to apply. He still had to interview. And he still had to submit a resume that could stand on its own.

So he built it on BMR.

Twelve days after the offer, he started the new job.

There's something worth taking from this one if you assume the resume stops mattering once you're already inside a company. It usually doesn't. The people reading it often don't know you, and the system racks and stacks you the same way it does everyone else.

Scott had a quarter century of federal investigative work behind him and still made the resume do its job. That's the standard.
