As a 15H Aircraft Pneudraulics Repairer, you kept Army aircraft flying by owning the systems that move under pressure. Pneudraulics is the blend of hydraulic fluid power and compressed air that actuates landing gear, flight controls, brakes, rotor systems, and cargo doors. When a UH-60 retracts its gear or an AH-64 cycles a flight-control servo, that is your work. You diagnosed leaks and pressure faults, removed and bench-tested actuators and accumulators, fabricated rigid tube and flexible hose assemblies to spec, and signed off systems against the aircraft technical manual before they ever left the ground.
The pipeline is short and dense. After nine weeks of Basic Combat Training, you spent about 13 weeks in Advanced Individual Training learning hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and electrical system repair, plus tube and hose fabrication and the airframe materials you work around. The MOS carries a heavy physical demand rating and an ASVAB mechanical maintenance (MM) line score of 105 or higher. There is no security clearance requirement for the core job, which means your value to a civilian employer is the hands-on troubleshooting and the airworthiness mindset, not a clearance.
That mindset is the part civilian employers pay for. You worked to a torque value, a system pressure, and a leak-rate tolerance, and you documented every action because a missed step on an aircraft is not survivable. The closest match is WG-8268 Aircraft Pneudraulic Systems Mechanic, a series that exists for your specialty almost word for word. WG-8255 Pneudraulic Systems Mechanic covers the same hydraulic and pneumatic work on non-aircraft systems, and WG-8852 Aircraft Mechanic is the broad airframe series at depots and on flightlines.
