How We Selected These Companies
This list isn''t a random collection of SkillBridge participants. We focused on companies that meet specific criteria: they actively hire SkillBridge interns (not just listed in the database), they have a track record of converting interns to full-time employees, they offer meaningful work assignments (not busywork), and they''re known within the veteran community for positive SkillBridge experiences. We cross-referenced the official DoD SkillBridge database, veteran hiring community feedback, and publicly available program details to compile this list.
Companies are organized by industry so you can quickly find opportunities in your target career field. For each company, we include the types of roles available, whether remote options exist, and any notable details about their program structure.

Brad''s Take
Defense contractors are the easiest cultural transition for most veterans — they already understand military terminology, clearance requirements, and the value of military experience. But don''t default to defense just because it''s comfortable. The whole point is to explore, not to stay in your lane.

How to Evaluate a SkillBridge Program Beyond the Company Name
A big-name company doesn't automatically mean a good SkillBridge experience. Before committing to any program, evaluate these factors:
What will you actually do? Ask for a specific job description or project list. Programs where you own real projects and deliverables are far more valuable than ones where you shadow, observe, or do administrative support. You want to leave with tangible accomplishments you can put on your resume and discuss in interviews.
Who will supervise you? A dedicated mentor or supervisor who is invested in your development makes an enormous difference. Ask whether you'll have a single point of contact who manages your work and provides feedback, or whether you'll be loosely attached to a team without clear ownership.
What's the realistic conversion rate? Companies may quote high conversion rates from their best years. Ask specifically: how many SkillBridge interns have they had in the last 12 months, and how many received full-time offers? Talk to alumni of the specific program — not just company employees — for honest assessments.
What skills or credentials will you gain? Some programs include certification preparation (AWS, Salesforce, PMP, CompTIA), structured training curricula, or access to learning platforms. Others are purely experiential. Both can be valuable, but knowing what you'll walk away with helps you plan your broader career development.
How does the program treat SkillBridge interns? Are you integrated into the team like a regular employee, or are you clearly a temporary outsider? Programs that treat interns as team members — including you in meetings, giving you access to systems, and inviting you to social events — produce better outcomes and more realistic job previews.

Key Takeaway
This list is a starting point, not the entire universe. New companies join SkillBridge regularly, and program details change. Always verify directly with the company before applying. Use BMR''s career translation guides to identify which civilian career paths match your military experience, then target SkillBridge programs at companies in those fields. And remember — a great SkillBridge experience at a smaller, lesser-known company can be just as valuable as one at a Fortune 500 if it leads to a job you love.
