MOS 3043 Supply Chain Specialists are the Marines responsible for the accountability, management, and distribution of supplies and equipment across Marine Corps units. The MOS carried the title Supply Administration for years, and most Marines still search by that name. Unlike a general warehouse worker, a 3043 manages the entire lifecycle of Marine Corps property — from requisitioning and receiving to issuing, inventorying, and disposing of everything from office supplies to tactical gear worth millions of dollars.
Supply Admin Marines work within the Global Combat Support System-Marine Corps (GCSS-MC), the Corps' primary enterprise resource planning (ERP) system that replaced the legacy ATLASS (Asset Tracking for Logistics and Supply System). GCSS-MC is an SAP-based platform, which means 3043s are actually gaining hands-on experience with one of the world's most widely used commercial ERP systems — a fact that many separating Marines don't realize until they start job searching.

Yes — and start early. Begin 12 months before your EAS. At 180 days out, you may qualify for DOD SkillBridge to intern at a civilian company while still receiving military pay. At minimum: have your resume ready 6 months out, build your LinkedIn profile, attend job fairs on base, and apply to federal positions 6 months out (federal hiring is slow). Use terminal leave as your transition runway — it is earned time, and wasting it on the couch instead of networking or interviewing is a missed opportunity.
